Single Stroller Overview:
Single strollers are by far the most popular category and encompass quite an array of different types of strollers for various uses. Single strollers can be found in the following forms, be sure to read and identify which is right for you:
Standard Strollers - Standard single strollers are the most common type of stroller. They are considered the workhorse of the stroller universe. Most so called standard strollers are packed with features but are still lightweight enough to tote around town. This stroller will be your all-around buggy.
Travel System - These single strollers are generally best used during your child's infant months. They allow you to transport your car seat in a stroller frame made to carry that car seat. The main advantage here is the travel systems ability to keep your baby in the car seat whether in car or on the go in the stroller. This comes in handle when you don't want to wake your newborn during car to stroller transition and most parents will call this a lifesaver. These travel systems are mostly lightweight.
Luxury Strollers - These are generally the higher priced strollers and manufactured by the most recognizable brands. Think Bugaboo, UPPAbaby, Stokke etc. Most of these luxury strollers basically serve as three strollers in one: Toddler Stroller, Carriage and All Terrain stroller. You'll find all the bells and whistles with these models including: Suspension, Lightweight design, oversized tires and the list goes on. Most offer an array of accessories which allow you to further customize and set you apart from the pack. There is a certain level of snob appeal in this category.
Jogging Strollers - While many parents purchase jogging strollers mainly for running, a new breed of jogging stroller lets you take you stroller for a run and converts back to a practical errand running machine with swivel wheel. All Terrain Strollers - Go anywhere strollers are great for handling a diversity of terrain and a good choice for parents looking to limit the number of strollers they own. They are built tough and many offer suspension, large wheels with aggressive tread, padded seats and five point harnesses. This category has come a long way and many all terrain strollers offer compact folding and weights under 30lbs. This is one of the fastest growing categories, so expect to see a lot of changes over the next several years.
