Editor's Peg Perego Strollers Review:
It's been said that the best ideas are born of necessity and this is certainly true of Peg Perego, a global leader in the design and production of infant and juvenile products. Unhappy with the non-availability of juvenile products for their infant son in 1949, Giuseppe Perego decided to design his own baby carriage. The aesthetics, functionality and the beautiful fabrics added by his wife caught the attention of parents in the Perego's small Italian neighborhood. Soon they were inundated with requests by neighbors for carriages for their own children. Peg Perego was born.
It wasn't long before word of the baby carriages spread, and the company introduced high chairs, strollers, and other juvenile products. With each new product, the family commitment to quality continued.
In the 1960s, Peg Perego ventured into a new market - children's riding vehicles. The company engineered its own line of pedal-operated children's riding vehicles, replacing traditional rust-prone steel construction with attractive, durable injection molded plastic. Durable and more fun for kids to play with, these re-engineered products heralded a new standard of safety and innovation in the children's riding vehicle market. Forty years later, the children's riding vehicles manufactured by Peg Perego, which now include battery powered John Deere, Polaris, Cub Cadet, Ducati and Vespa brands are considered the industry standard.
