With a handful more features and a few more dollars, the Double Urban Elite is Mountain Buggy is a step up from the standard Double Urban. MB includes extra cozy padded seats. The soft liner offers added warmth, comfort and is easy to remove for cleaning. The Urban Elite Double also included a diaper bag which includes a changing mat and plenty of pockets. Other than this, it offers the same features as the standard Mountain Buggy Urban Double.
Designed to handle rugged use and up to two children the Mountain Buggy Urban Elite Double is a great option in the Doubles stroller landscape. The double seats allow for multiple configurations for children of mixed ages. For example, The Urban Double Elite allows mixing and matching between the regular seat and carry cot pram, great for carrying one small child and one newborn at the same time. For twins, you can purchase the optional twin carrycot. 29" in width allow the Urban Double stroller to still fit through standard door openings. The Urban Double Elite is available in over 4 colors.
The Urban Double Elite's ability to mix and match seating positions and arrangements make is flexible enough for any two child need, regardless of age. The tough design is Mountain Buggy's staple and a go anywhere attitude is great for parents who enjoy being outdoors. The overall weight of the stroller is 35 lbs, which for a double stroller isn't bad. Folding the Urban double elite is a little cumbersome and will take some getting used to.
4 large, 12" air-filled tires and rear suspension help smooth bumps and ensure traction over off-road terrain. The front wheel can be position in locked mode for travel over loose terrain such as gravel or for jogging/running use. In more confined spaces like stores or various urban settings, the front wheel can be unlocked to swivel for tighter turning radiuses. The wheels feature ultra-smooth sealed bearings which allow you to push the Mountain Buggy stroller with one finger. The sealed bearings also prevent any moisture or debris from effecting ride performance over time. Rear suspension, hammock style seats add to overall ride comfort. The 5 point safety harness and foot activated brake system add to overall stroller safety.
Adjustable handlebars accommodate users of various heights with ease. We did find the handlebar to be higher than most at the low setting, which maybe an issue for parents under 5'4". The Mountain Buggy's stroller water bottle holder and huge under seat storage bin hold everything you might need to make it through your day. The easy care fabric is water repellent and cleans up easily. The Mountain Buggy Urban double seats are adjustable via strap and can be position from upright to nearly flat positions, great for sleeping babies.
The Mountain Buggy Urban Double Elite is one step up from the standard Urban Double stroller. It's light enough for traveling but robust enough for jogging & walking and the simplistic features make maintenance a breeze. We would recommend to anyone who especially loves the outdoors with young children, whatever weather.
