Editor's Mountain Buggy Urban Swift Stroller Review:
The Mountain Buggy Swift's specs aren't too different from the MB Urban, but we soon realize the Swift was noticeably narrower, lighter and less bulky. These attributes make the swift ideal for urban environments and travel use. Even though the Swift stroller lends itself more to urban use, rugged design still gives you versatility to navigate off-road conditions or rough urban environments. The Mountain Buggy Swift's design is suitable for newborns, infants and toddlers. The Swift weight in at 21 lbs, 1 pound lighter than the MB Urban and is available in over 3 colors.
10" Air-Filled tires offer rugged tread to navigate anything from shopping malls to snow and sand. If you're looking for even greater mobility of uneven terrain, be sure to check out the Urban Single Stroller review. The front wheel can be in free swivel mode for tight space navigation or in locked mode for better tracking on rough terrain. Based on a narrower wheel span and smaller tires, we don't recommend this stroller for jogging. Be sure to take a look at Mountain Buggy Urban, Urban Elite or MB Terrain strollers if you intended to use your stroller for on/off road jogging. The wheels feature ultra-smooth sealed bearings which allow you to push the Mountain Buggy stroller with one finger. The sealed bearings also prevent any moisture or debris from effecting ride smoothness over time.
The Swifts adjustable handlebars accommodate users of various heights with any easy adjustment. We did find the handlebar to be higher than most at the low setting, which maybe an issue for parents under 5'4". The easy care fabric is water repellent and cleans up easily. The Mountain Buggy Swifts seat is adjustable via strap and can be position from upright to nearly flat positions, great for napping little ones. The Swift's under seat basket is huge and allows easy access. We wish the canopy were larger to provide better coverage from the elements. The five point harness and foot activated brakes come standard and help add to overall stroller safety. Unlike the MB Urban series, the Swift doesn't offer rear suspension.
The Mountain Buggy Swift stroller is no-nonsense stroller that will be reliable from beginning to end. It has a recognizable style and is available in over 3 colors. The fact that this Mountain Buggy stroller weighs in at only 21 lbs and still has an unheard of 100lb capacity, further speaks to its quality. If you want to be prepared for everything from trails to 5th Avenue, be sure to further explore this stroller. If you're seriously considering the Mountain Buggy brand and are looking for a good blend of off-road capability, easy travel system but don't plan on jogging with your stroller, the MB Swift is a great choice.
