Editor's BOB Revolution Stroller Review:
By far the most common BOB Stroller, the Revolution has earned its place as a top performer. With sturdy looks and ability to handle anything from simple errands to walks over uneven terrain, the BOB should be at the top of your list if you're a fitness minded parent. You'll quickly realize that the BOB stroller borrow a lot from the world of mountain biking and uses best practices in their design. If you looking for runway chic, you may want to look at other options like the Bugaboo Cameleon stroller. Practically speaking, there are few compromises with this stroller.
The Revolutions frame is crafted from lightweight aluminum. The front wheel swivel to handle tight turning radius or lock when on long straight walks or jogs. Rear wheels are very large at 16 inches, which add all terrain capabilities, but also weight. The Revolution comes in at 23lbs, very light in its class but still a bit cumbersome to fly with. If you're looking to shed a pound, and still stick with BOB Stroller, check out the BOB Revolution 12" AW. The wheel configuration allows for use in both urban/shopping areas as well as the back woods.
Features to highlight include the super strong, easy to fold frame, Ultra padded seat and the state of the art suspension. Where most suspended strollers only offer simple spring mechanisms, the BOB Revolution goes above and beyond with a closed suspension system that really works! The seat reclines from vertical position to nearly flat. The canopy/hood is also one of the largest in the market and does a better than average job of shielding your passenger from the sun and elements. It is absolutely huge. 5 point harness comes standard on all Revolutions.
We keep bringing up durability and design, which affords the Revolution a 70lb capacity, 15lbs more than the Phil & Teds Sport! This greatly extends the life of your stroller. If you are above average sized parents or wish to extend the use of your stroller past the average 55lb capacity mark, the Revolution Stroller could be for you. An infant car seat adapter bar (Sold Separately) will allow use of the Revolution from the first time you leave the hospital until your child reaches 70lbs. It should be noted that even thought the Revolution is labeled as a jogging stroller and can handle light runs, you'll probably want to take a look at the BOB Sport Utility, BOB SUS D'Lux or BOB Ironman Strollers for full pace, dedicated running use.
If you do a lot of shopping, you'll appreciate the BOB Revolutions front swivel wheel. The swivel wheel allows for easy navigation in tight spaces with it turn on a dime precision. You probably won't be as happy with the storage basket underneath, which for a stroller of its size, lacks a lot of space. These things aside the BOB Revolution Stroller is fantastic product and great buy if you looking for one stroller to do it all.
