Editor's BOB Revolution 12" AW Stroller Review:
The Revolution AW borrows many of the same features from its sibling the BOB Revolution, minus 1lb in weight due to the smaller rear wheels. Where the BOB Revolutions wheels are constructed form plastic, the Revolution AW's wheels are wire spoked, similar to most bicycle tires. And similar to most bicycle tires, these rims may need adjusting over their lifespan, a problem not encountered with the solid plastic rims found on the standard BOB Revolution. Besides saving weight the smaller wheels also allow for a more compact fold. The Revolution 12" AW clocks in at 22lbs, very light its jogging stroller class.
Storage on the standard Revolution consists of and under seat basket. While the Revolution AW has a similar basket it also comes standard with 2 interior pockets, 1 large seatback pocket. The Revolution AW has a 70lb capacity and with the use of the infant car seat adapter bar (Sold separately) should allow use from day one through 5 years of age.
A tough, yet light weight aluminum frame should hold up to any abuse. The seat is ultra padded and constructed over very durable nylon. Wiping down is easy. Front wheel can be in locked or swivel position depending on terrain traveled and personal preference.
You'll truly appreciate BOB Strollers suspension system, which is one of the most advanced we've seen and truly does work unlike some the simple spring loaded ones we've test on other strollers. The five point harness will do a great job restraining your child should you hit any bumps the suspension can't dampen.
To summarize the BOB Revolution 12" AW stroller is easy to assemble out of the box with minimum tools and effort. The maneuverability is above average and great for navigating tight spaces like the mall. Children seem very comfortable in stroller due to seat padding and active suspension system. Folding is easy and can be done in 2 steps. Even though light weight for its class the BOB Revolution AW is still difficult to take on the plane. If you're looking for a do it all strollers, consider this product.
It should be noted that even thought the Revolution 12" AW is labeled as a jogging stroller and can handle light runs, you'll probably want to take a look at the BOB Sport Utility , BOB SUS D'Lux or BOB Ironman Strollers for full pace, dedicated running use.
